“The scope was unreal” “The scope was unreal” Banff Gate Mountain Lodge and Spa Formerly the home base for operations, the Banff Gate Mountain Lodge and Spa is now owned by lenders who were defrauded in straw-man mortgage fraud deals. Contrary to some reports that are floating around the web, there is no timeshare operating from this location. Built in 2001, the Banff Gate Mountain Lodge and Spa, it seems, became the bait in all of Andre Muran’s schemes. By 2002, Straw-man mortgage fraud deals were already being run on individual units at this location. As mortgages were defaulted on, units would be foreclosed on. Sometimes, these were redeemed, but in time, the whole property was in jeopardy. In 2007, the Banff Gate Mountain Lodge and Spa was struck from the corporate record, making it legally dead. That did not prevent Andre Muran from continuing to operate the location and use it in his “ventures”. A Receivership Order was issued on the property in August 2008. Even after the property had been foreclosed on, Muran still had his staff operating from and selling stays to guests at the Banff Gate Mountain Lodge and Spa. The court appointed Receiver had to physically kick them off of the property at the end of February of 2010. Even though Chateau World had lost it’s resort properties completely, staffers were still contacting members demanding they pay their club dues and maintenance fees; Many were threatened with lawsuits and ruined credit ratings if they refused to pay. Of course, by this time, there were no credit card companies willing to work with “the club” and so, members were asked to make their payments via PayPal to a PayPal merchant account in Singapore. This graphic was created using information from the land title’s office in 2009. It was generated to show members who visited this site what the actual situation was and that they were being lied to. Consumers who found this website, and then enquired of the staff at Chateau World were told that there was nothing wrong and that negative information on the web about their activities was entirely false and there was nothing to worry about. They were very convincing liars because most of the members continued to pay. © L.Goodwin 2011-2012
